I am currently loving everything white, bright, and airy. My only wish would be to have discovered this new love of mine sooner. Seriously, who isn't loving the look of crisp, clean white? Well, once upon a time, I didn't. Oddly enough a couple years ago I was convinced white made things look cheap. I wanted my whole world surrounded by black. Black picture frames, black furniture, black dinner ware. My whole world was dark and depressing. I'm glad there is finally some happiness in my life.
All this project took was a little bit of paint (which was actually a lot of paint) and some sandpaper. I began by sanding it down with a fine grit paper. After the entire surface was rubbed down I started the paint job. This project took about a day which included the sanding and the painting, the drying, and even more painting. I alternated between a roller and a good ole' fashioned paint brush. A roller just can't get into those grooves. The original paint job was terrible, luckily it was an easy cover up. You can catch a glimpse of the black bookcase here.
I'm thinking this transformation is pretty remarkable. The brightness and whiteness is breath taking.
